Job Summary
Job Summary
This position exists to manage the department's Affirmative Action and Diversity program to achieve a multicultural working environment and investigate discrimination and Respectful Workplace complaints for the Department of Administration, Minnesota Management and Budget and small agencies. This position will serve as the Americans with Disabilities Act Coordinator and ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, rules, regulations, and harassment policies. This position will provide training and take other proactive measures to ensure compliance with AA/EEO and diversity and inclusion goals of the two agencies ensuring that impartial and legal employee investigations are delivered. This position will also direct efforts to ensure that attraction, promotion and retention of employees from protected classes and promote participation in workforce diversity to increase representation from traditionally underrepresented groups at all levels in the organization.
Qualifications
**Minimum Qualifications:**
* Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of one (1) year of professional experience in areas of human resources, affirmative action, diversity, and/or equal opportunity OR three (3) years of professional work experience in the areas listed above;
* ## Knowledge of federal, state and local human/civil rights laws and an understanding of how to integrate equal opportunity and equity into the full talent management cycle;
* ## Knowledge of cultural diversity strategies and ability to remain current on new and innovative approaches for achieving organizational objectives related to work place diversity and equal opportunity employment;
* ## The ability to communicate effectively with internal employees across the organization and external stakeholders and customers;
* ## Demonstrated ability to build strong collaborative relationships and conduct outreach to diverse communities;
* ## Leadership skills sufficient to provide direction and guidance to senior leadership and management staff;
* Ability to develop and deliver clear, effective training materials and programs related to equal employment opportunity and ADA.
* Strong research and analysis skills to establish and evaluate policies and procedures and conduct thorough investigations;
* ## Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint to create reports and dashboards and to make effective presentations.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Coursework or training in related areas such as diversity awareness, affirmative action, equal employment opportunity, human rights, bystander interventions, conducting investigations, human relations, ADA administration of reasonable accommodation under the ADA or related;
* Knowledge of the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act and the ability to apply the act in matters of investigations;
* Working knowledge of union contracts, workforce structures, and statistical methods to formulate, analyze and interpret realistic hiring goals.
**Additional Requirements:**
